I’m Jamie Reeves, founder of Little Black Dress Marketing, a Nashville-based freelance marketing and communications consultancy. Throughout my career, I’ve worked across corporate communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit, real estate, franchising, lifestyle brands and small business, helping organizations communicate clearly, strengthen their brands and connect with their audiences.
I began my career in the News & Public Affairs office at Vanderbilt University, followed by corporate communications work for one of Nashville’s largest insurance companies. Since then, I’ve worked with national brands, entrepreneurs, executives and local businesses on strategic messaging, content development, social media, public relations and digital marketing.
I’m a prolific copywriter with experience creating website content, blogs, social media, email marketing, lead-generation campaigns, press materials and branded communications. My work has included national brands such as SONIC, Gigi’s Cupcakes and Tony Roma’s, along with a wide range of small and growing businesses.
A Career Spanning the Digital Evolution
I’ve been working in communications long enough to remember when the Internet was still new—and I’ve had a front-row seat to the evolution from print and traditional media to websites, blogs, social media and today’s digital landscape.
In 2005, I launched BlondeMomBlog.com, a Nashville-based lifestyle and parenting blog that grew into a successful platform and led to brand ambassador opportunities with companies including Lee Jeans and Nintendo. I’ve also written about Nashville travel and lifestyle as a freelance writer.
That experience gives me a unique perspective: I understand marketing from both sides—as the person developing the brand message and as the consumer and content creator experiencing it.
